Forest Survival Skills with Archery
June 1 - June 5
June 1-5 | Ages 8-12
8:30–3:30 | Early & After Care Available
During this week we will explore survival basics: fire, water, shelter, first aid and archery. We will use local plants to make a healing salve for our own mini-survival kits. We will orient to the four directions and look for landmarks as we hike and explore wild places. We will learn modern and primitive fire making techniques (hand drill & bow drill) with an emphasis on safety and reverence for our forests. We will find and purify water using a variety of techniques for our own bottles. We will find time to run and play, and time to sit quietly and enjoy the sounds of nature.
