Friday Afternoon Adventures

Fall is an active time for all beings preparing for the short, cold days ahead. Plants let their outer leaves die off, sending their sap back down into their roots. Animals gather their foods and stash them, while insects start their journey into the earth to wait out the winter, dens/warrens and cozy homes are created and secured. We will observe and participate in these changes around us as we immerse ourselves in nature’s tapestry, changing our needs also as we move into colder, crisper times.

Kids ages 7-11 are invited to engage with the wonders of fall through a rhythm of play, exploration, seasonal stories and teas, natural crafts, primitive skills, gentle hiking, and the wild crafting of plants and medicine making.

Program will be led by Carmen Harris, a skilled teacher, naturalist and herbalist, and Katie Macaulay, founder and director of Mountain Kids!

We will meet at Fort Marcy or the Beaver Ponds in Santa Fe at 1:00. Pick up is at Fort Marcy at 5:00.

Fridays, 1:00-5:00, 8 sessions October 6 – December 1, 2017.
