Family Adventure Day Trips: Kayaking!
Ages: 4 years and up, younger children (4-6 years) will ride in a tandem with an adult.
Fees: $89 per person. Includes all equipment, professional guide, a lesson, and park entry fee. 4-6 year olds: $69 per person
Mountain Kids! is thrilled to be offering kids and adults a chance to get out on the water this summer in kayaks. Steve Gibons, a 25 year veteran of the kayaking industry, is excited to be ‘back on the water’, leading kayaking day trips from Santa Fe to Santa Cruz Lake.
What does a Family Kayaking Adventure look like?
8 am Meet Steve at Fort Marcy to convoy to Santa Cruz Lake together. Steve will drive kayaks, you will drive your party.
9:30 Steve will set everyone up with a lifejacket and a paddle and teach everyone basic kayaking techniques and safety.
10-1 Paddle, swim, eat lunch, drink water! Enjoy a day of exploring Santa Cruz Lake from all sides and perspectives. Pack a picnic and eat lunch in a beautiful spot.
1:30 Kayaks are loaded and ready to head back to Santa Fe.
3:00 Arrive back in Santa Fe.
All times are estimates. Departure time can be shifted to 9 am or later, if desired. Plan on seven hours for the excursion.
Minimum 4 people per outing and up to 7 can kayak at one time. Larger groups may ask to rotate kayak use.
